How To Prepare for Your Hyperbaric Treatment

How to prepare for your treatment:

  • Adult Patient Clothing

Patients must wear 100% cotton clothing. Every patient is supplied with their very own 100% cotton bedding and their own 100% cotton gown or pajamas.

  • Children’s Clothing

Children’s clothing may not have Velcro of any kind. A disposable diaper may be worn, but cotton pants or shorts must be worn over it.

  • Balanced Diet

Please eat a balanced meal before the treatment.

  • Drinking

Refrain from drinking CAFFEINATED or CARBONATED BEVERAGES immediately prior to your treatment. Caffeine may cause stomach discomfort, frequent urination, and indirect effects on cardiovascular processes by increasing blood pressure levels.

  • Avoid Smoking

You are encouraged NOT TO SMOKE at least two hours before or after your treatment. Smoking causes blood vessels to constrict, decreasing blood and oxygen supply to tissue, counteracting the benefits of hyperbaric therapy.
